My Brothers,

The ordeal season is back in swing and it is time to start preparing the section for our Small Lodge Leadership Development Course which is right around the bend. It is my hope that many of you attend the training and become better lodge leaders.

I also want to encourage everyone to sign up for ArrowCorps 5. Our section has made a commitment to Mark Twain Forest and we encourage all of you to go there. This does not mean that you cannot attend the other sites. Feel free to attend as many of the sites as possible.

I would also like to ask that all lodges out there begin to grow their scout reach mentoring programs. At the Southern Region Section Officers’ Seminar the three of us had the opportunity to work with a scout reach troop from the Huntsville, Alabama area. It was one of the most rewarding things that I have ever done. You feel so much better afterwards and after seeing the looks in those kids’ eyes it is just unbelievable.

Lastly I ask all of you to go out and represent the order in the utmost of ways. I look forward to seeing all of you around.

Yours in Brotherhood,
Thomas Joyce
S-3 Section Chief
